In 2022, WO=MEN, as co-coordinator of the Netherlands NAP 1325-IV, co-evaluated and improved the reporting process of the Netherlands NAP 1325. This resulted in the publishing of the first NAP 1325 progress report for the Dutch Parliament, and a public database with insights into the commitment and progress of the implementation of NAP 1325 by both the Dutch government and civil society. Additionally, WO=MEN reported strengthening civil society and promoted the inclusion of local women’s organizations in decision-making processes and international, humanitarian cooperation. WO=MEN facilitated a meeting between Ukrainian women’s rights activists and the Dutch Foreign Trade and Development Minister to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and the kind of support the Netherlands can provide to local women-led organizations.
Furthermore, WO=MEN advocated and provided input for the development of the Dutch Feminist Foreign Policy. The Dutch FFP strives to strengthen the political and financial space for activism on gender equality and women’s rights through civil society involvement.
